The history of Touriga Nacional recalls the tale of Fenix, the legendary bird of Greek mythology that was reborn from its own ashes. In 1865, Phylloxera exterminated most European vineyards and the Touriga Nacional caste was no exception. More than a century passed, before the Touriga Nacional breed was reborn to make wines of excellent quality. Monte das Louzeiras Touriga Nacional presents an intense ruby colour with a noble rosemary flower aroma; in the mouth it is full and persistent with a velvety taste. What is important is that all the windows of the soul are open to what this wine can reveal.
